About Me

I'm Rich Doak, a woodland and landscape photographer based in North Yorkshire. I hold a particular love for the North York Moors and the beautiful countryside around me.

I've always been drawn to woodland and the atmosphere it can create. For me, it's not just about photographing trees and landscapes; it's about capturing a feeling — the quietness of a misty morning, the changing colours of autumn, light through the canopy or the character of an old woodland.

I spend a lot of my time exploring the woods, forests and landscapes of the North York Moors National Park often returning to the same places throughout the seasons. I'm fascinated by how dramatically a familiar location can change with the weather, light and time of year.

My photography focuses mainly on woodland photography, creating atmospheric images that reflect the character and mood of these places.

I love being outdoors with my camera, discovering new locations and occasionally finding those fleeting moments of light that make all the early starts, cold mornings and muddy boots worthwhile.

On my website I offer a selection of fine art prints for anyone who would love a piece of woodland in their home. Along with the opportunity to those who wish to visit and capture these locations along side me during a workshop.

Thanks.
